Area Manager Simon Anckorn’s 98 year old father Fergus is to be featured in a BBC documentary next week. Fergus who some will remember helped Britian’s Got Talent winner Richard Jones, push his victory over the line last summer, will be interviewed as part of a BBC programme celebrating the centenary of The Imperial War Museum. Several WW ll veterans will be telling of their own experiences in wartime and Fergus will be describing his period in captivity in Japanese labour camps. These interviews together with the 1000s of exhibits make the IWM the valuable asset that it has become. Fergus is pictured with Simon Weston, a veteran of the Falklands War who also has an amazing story of survival through adversity and has become an amazingly inspirational public speaker. The programme goes out at 7.30 on Saturday 18th March on BBC 2.
